Motrona - Speed Monitors

Monitors for speed, Direction of Rotation, standstill, position, slip and shaft fracture.
Motrona is having range of Speed/Position monitors, are able to measure speed and compare with preset values to detect lower or over speed, direction of rotation or standstill of system to protect from undesired start of machines.
A speed / position monitor is used to monitor and analyze speeds to take measures for preventing risks and damage like misalignment, shaft breakage, torsion and slippage.

Typical applications in which a speed / position monitor  is used are the following:

• Cranes (gantry crane, overhead crane, process crane, single / double girder overhead traveling crane, retrofit)
• Wind turbines
• High rack storage systems
• Transport systems and conveyor systems
• Saws/ woodworking machine
• Test benches
• Balancing machines, grinding machines, agitators, filling machines and many more.
Special models of the speed monitors, which have an Analog / Relay output, can also be used for control tasks.

Motrona Position Monitor

ZD640: Position monitoring, monitoring of misalignment, shaft breakage, torsion and slippage.

  • 4 control inputs for PNP / NPN / Namur signals [10 … 30 VDC]
Input frequency up to 1 MHz
  • scalable inputs with format A, /A, B, /B [HTL / TTL / RS422,
single channel, dual channel, symmetric or asymmetric]
  • 4 fast transistor outputs with push-pull characteristic,
    short-circuit-proof [5 … 30 VDC]
  • 4 potential-free output relays
  • The slip monitor builds the difference between both encoders and
compares these with signs including the 4 adjustable switching thresholds
  • The 4 programmable limit values ??switch the output relays or transistor switch outputs as a function of the determined position difference
  • A switchable time-controlled reset function also allows the monitoring of slip with definable values for nominal slip
